My account is locked out, what can I do?

The Security System we use to protect the Tribal Portal is set to block an IP address after multiple login failures within a particular time window.

(most of the time this happens, we find that it’s something like Lastpass auto-filling an incorrect/old password – here’s more details on how to stop Lastpass from doing it).

This block lasts for 2 hours and after that 2 hour window, you will be able to login again.

If you want to login in earlier – you can change your IP address (by using something like a VPN) and you will be able to login again.

If after 2 hours, you’re still blocked, the security vendor may for some reason have flagged your IP as malicious and permanently blocked it (this has happened 2-3 times since we started the Tech Tribe back in 2017).

If this is the case – shoot an email to help@thetechtribe.com and let us know your IP address and your Tech Tribe username (if it’s different to the email you’re sending from) and our Helpdesk Ninjas will work out what’s going on and get you back up and running ASAP!
